Geometries and infrasolvmanifolds in dimension 4

Abstract

We show that every torsion-free virtually poly-Z group of Hirsch length 4 is the fundamental group of a closed 4-manifold with a geometry of solvable lie type. [This is an expansion of a 2006 e-preprint with the same title.]
