Surgery on SL×Eⁿ-manifolds

Abstract

We show that although closed SL×Eⁿ-manifolds do not admit metrics of nonpositive sectional curvature, the arguments of Farrell and Jones can be extended to show that such manifolds are topologically rigid, if n≥2.
