The Quantum Sylvester Theorem and its applications.

    Friday 25th September, 12-1pm, Carslaw 273.

Classically, Sylvester's theorem provides certain relations for the minors of a matrix. We give a "quantum" version of this theorem where minors are replaced with "quantum" minors. Then we apply it to identify the so-called elementary representations of the Yangian for the general linear Lie algebra.
