Sets of fixed points of anisotropic tori in the Bruhat-Tits building

In this talk I will discuss the problem of finding the set of fixed points of a maximal anisotropic torus of a p-adic group with totally and tamely ramified splitting field in the affine Bruhat-Tits building. The first part will answer this question in the case of SLn. The second part will give an overview of the strategy which solves the problem for the simple split groups of all types except E7 and E8.
